MEI Polytechnic: teaching diploma students to design electronics with Claude Code
A full-day workshop that took about 60 Electronics & Communication students from the circuits in their own lab manual to a smartphone-class system, with the design work done live by Claude Code and Creopus AI.
The challenge
The E&C department at MEI Polytechnic, Rajajinagar, wanted its 5th-semester diploma students to see how AI is changing electronic system design, and to connect it to the circuits they build in their own lab curriculum.
What we did
Creopus brought 17+ years of hands-on aerospace and EV hardware experience and a practical workflow:
- Claude Code, live: designing the schematic and PCB layout of a circuit in front of the students, then walking through the result with them.
- Creopus tools for the wider systems-engineering work around the circuit.
- Scaling up: applying the same method to a smartphone-class system, so students could see how a lab circuit becomes one block of a real product.
The morning ran in the classroom; the afternoon moved to the lab, where we worked desk by desk to get every student started.
“Thank you for sharing your domain knowledge with our students for the whole day and enabling them to use CREOPUS tools and Claude code in a complex electronic system designs.”

The outcome
About 60 students spent a full day seeing an electronic design go from a requirement to a schematic and PCB layout, and how that work fits into a full product. The Head of the E&C Department thanked us in writing and invited us back for further sessions.
